A Better Fantasy Football

The game you know and love is being rebuilt from the ground up.

Fantasy football is huge. So then why does it feel like there's no good website that does everything that fantasy football should do?

The current class of fantasy football websites fall into two separate categories:

A website tacked onto a sports news website. These sites are great for player news, but they always seem so limited and aimed at the lowest common denominator.

A fantasy football website made for hardcore players, by hardcore players. These sites are very flexible, but learning how to use them usually requires a 10-week course. And then there's the cost.

There's no middle ground. And at this point, we can't expect these websites to change. They've been around for too long; they're entrenched in their ideas and their individual way of doing things.

What we need is something in the middle. A fantasy football website that's easy and accessible for the novices in your league, while still providing the flexibility to make your league fun and engaging.

Planned Features

This is where we come in. We're going to create a brand new fantasy experience from scratch. These are some of the things we're planning on implementing. Click on each feature for more details.

  • settingsLeague Site Data Blocks

Commissioners can manipulate blocks on their league homepage by adding, removing and positioning them. Custom blocks may also be available at higher (paid) tiers.

  • settingsIn-Depth Team Stories

Historical data is used to craft intricate stories based on team trends, performance, rankings and matchups. Commissioners can use these stories to create their Commissioner Posts.

  • settingsScoring System Testing

Create your own unique scoring system and simulate outcomes based on previous years' stats.

  • settingsInjury Substitutions

If a player gets hurt during a game, a player from the “reserve list” is added to the active roster in their place. From that point on, any points accumulated by the reserve is counted towards the active total.

  • settingsAuction Draft Value Calculator

Quickly see who spent too much and who got the most deals.

  • settingsPower Ups

Allow owners to accumulate Power Up cards that can be used to gain an advantage. For instance, each owner can get one Replacement Card that will allow for a substitution of one player after the player has played. These can be traded/kept just like players or draft picks.

  • settingsTeam Autopilot

Commissioners can set a team on "autopilot," where abandoned teams will be controlled by the computer. Basic functions such as setting weekly lineups and responding to trade requests will be automated based on predetermined player rankings.

  • settingsCrowdsourced Trade Reviews

Any league participating in a standard scoring system will be able to opt into a trade review system. Team owners in participating leagues are randomly chosen to weigh in on the "fairness" of a currently outstanding trade (via a Fair/Unfair popup presented to the user). The aggregated results of these votes are tallied and presented to any leagues with this trade on the table. Commissioners can then use these results to allow the system to automatically allow/veto the trade based on fairness threshold percentages.

  • settingsIntegrated Fund Management

Commissioners of paid leagues can use the integrated fund manager to collect league dues, and to dole out rewards.

  • settingsMulti-Team Trading

Trade players or draft picks with multiple teams at once, so that everyone gets what they want.

  • settingsFull WYSIWYG Commissioner Posts

A full-featured WYSIWYG editor will allow league managers to create robust updates on their league homepage.

  • settingsPower Rankings Generator

A drag-and-drop interface for quickly creating weekly power rankings.
